I FORGOT TO LOVE ME
So often we hear of how people are full of it or egotistical. From most religious people and from various religions we are told to put God first and to put others first. The third leg of this should be to love one’s self AS GOD LOVES YOU - not by worldly standards such as physical appearance, intelligence, wealth, and talents. We can be thankful for what we may have but that is not who or what we really are.
I discovered yesterday that while most often I have been successful at allowing God’s love to flow through me to others, I forgot to “water” myself. I forgot to see myself as God sees me. That is the key ‘AS GOD SEES ME” - not as the world sees and not as the ego may or may not see. The ego is cunning. It can make you have a false sense of worth that is based on worldly perceptions or it can make you see that you are not good and not worthy of anything or anyone. It plays to that part of you that works.
We cannot successfully give what we are not nurturing within ourselves. And what is within us is what some of the Christian persuasion call the Christ within or Christ consciousness. It doesn’t matter what you call It but do call upon It to show you yourself as you truly are – as God sees you.
At Easter time what better time, what more appropriate time to renew within yourself what I call the risen Christ within. But call it what you will, just call.
